Gain the physical and mental health benefits of choral singing
Due to the risks posed by the coronavirus epidemic and the need for social distancing, Yateley Choral Society is currently not meeting up to share in face-to-face choral music.
We are, however, meeting up on Zoom each week to explore new music and keep our singing muscles active. In between lockdowns, we have also held some hybrid Zoom / in-person rehearsals that have been very enjoyable (and safe!).
If you would like to join us at Yateley Choral Society for Zoom-based and increasingly hybrid and in-person sessions as lockdown restrictions are eased, we would be delighted to welcome you. Please contact us for further information.
In the meantime, if you would like a taster of our Musical Director, Quintin Beer’s vocal warm ups, please join his inspiring vlog sessions. For a full playlist of Quintin’s choir vlogs, which he held throughout the summer term and now form part of our regular Zoom sessions: click here.
We usually rehearse on Monday evenings between 7.45pm and 9.45pm in the Manor Place Hall, Yateley Manor School, with a break in the middle for refreshments.
There are no formal auditions as we like to encourage latent talent and enthusiasm for choral singing. It will help if you can read music a little and you will benefit from the high quality of guidance and support provided by our Musical Director. We invite you to come along for a couple of weeks and see if you like it before joining up.
Membership is £120 a year (£90 for concessions*). We do have some bursaries available.

*We offer concessions for students, those on social security benefits and pensioners whose income is not sufficient to allow them to pay the full subscription.
