Yateley Choral society has been at the heart of music making in Yateley for over 30 years. Originally conceived as an evening class by Dave Howells and Colin Thomas, following its very successful first concert, the class was transformed into a music society which has been bringing the opportunity of choral singing to people in Yateley and surrounding districts ever since.

The Choir sings regularly with young singers from local schools at both our traditional carol concert on a Monday in December and also through producing a Community Carol Concert for all schools in Yateley to perform seasonal music. Both our Christmas concerts are held in aid of charity, raising money for both Naomi House and Phyllis Tuckwell Hospices. We have also sung in fundraising concerts at Guildford Cathedral for the Children with Aids charity.

During the festive season, a chamber group can be requested to sing at meetings of local groups and hotels for celebrations. A group can also be put together to sing for weddings.

YCS is also a key member of a group of local choirs, the Centenary Chorus, which brings together a group of 4 or 5 choirs from North East Hampshire and Surrey to sing large-scale works.
